Looking for a role where your leadership and operational expertise shine?

As Greenmill Co-ordinator, you will manage a high-performing team and keep our sawmill running at its best.

This role is responsible for all aspects of sawmill performance and leadership. You will lead a sawmill team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a team of 13, promoting a positive and resilient culture.
  • Managing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinating daily and weekly production planning, log supply.
  • Working closely with Maintenance and Saw Doctor teams to improve uptime and plant reliability.
  • Managing budgets, reporting on production performance.
  • Driving training and team development to build a skilled, flexible workforce.

About you:

You are an experienced leader with a strong operational focus and a passion for safety and efficiency. Ideally you have:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing environment (sawmilling experience is an advantage but not essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams
  • A Certificate in Solid Wood Manufacturing (an advantage but not essential)
  • A tertiary qualification in leadership (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong health and safety focus
  • Ability to plan, organise, multi-task and deliver on promises
  • Sound judgment with a tactical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving

Pan Pac Forest Products (Otago) Ltd operates a modern sawmilling facility in Milburn, located just 40 minutes south of Dunedin and 20 minutes north of Balclutha. We produce high-quality kiln-dried appearance grade lumber for both domestic and export markets.
