About the Role

As the Industrial Electrician (Shift) you are responsible for providing hands on practical electrical expertise and lead assigned tasks and projects for the Lumber division. You will ensure that all electrical functions for the division are maintained for optimal performance. You have will have a focus on reliability of electrical, optimisation and control systems. In your role you will also lead the resolution of electrical breakdowns and failures promptly to minimise production downtime while actively participating in preventative maintenance strategies. There is also the opportunity to monitor and review electrical performance and current processes to identify efficiencies and process improvements. This role is based at our Whirinaki site located 15 mins north of Napier.

This is a shift role, to meet the 24/7 nature of the business. The shift pattern consists of 4 twelve-hour shifts, made up of 2 nights and 2 days over an 8 day period.

About you

You are self-motivated with high levels of energy to get the job done.

You also have:

  • a level 4 Trade Certificate (or equivalent)
  • a minimum of 2 years' experience as a NZ registered electrician
  • a strong electrical aptitude and demonstrated practical experience
  • good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • knowledge and experience with Allen Bradley PLC systems preferred
  • a positive outlook - team fit is a must
  • good communication skills
  • a willingness to learn
