Forest Supervisor

Managing over 35,000 hectares of our own forest plus privately-owned forests, we understand the importance of delivering high quality professional forest management services and are looking for an experienced Forest Supervisor to join the team!

What's the opportunity?

Based at our Whirinaki mill site in sunny Hawkes Bay, you'll be responsible for a variety of activities contributing to the successful and sustainable management of our Forests.

Your focus will be on identifying, monitoring and maintaining core forest management activities coupled with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with Iwi, forest owners, contractors and regulatory authorities while continuously improving health & safety, environmental and financial outcomes.

Added to this, you'll be responsible for managing projects and implementing innovative ways (through technology) to increase operational productivity.

What you'll bring?

The role will give you exposure to a variety of environments and people therefore, you'll need to come with a high level of fitness, exceptional interpersonal skills capable of using judgement with a practical and logical approach to problem solving and handling unforeseen situations.

Along with this you'll have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Forestry or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrated forest management experience
  • Local knowledge of environmental factors
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • A natural ability to engage with people from all walks of life
  • An interest/experience in the latest Forest technology
