Pan Pac Forest Products (Otago) is one of the South Island's largest producing sawmills, specialising in rough sawn timber manufactured from locally sourced radiata pine. An opportunity is now available for an enthusiastic industrial electrician to join our team and work alongside our former electrician, who has progressed into a new role within the business.

About the Role

As part of the engineering department, your primary focus will be the electrical maintenance, installations, and ongoing reliability of our sawmill and site infrastructure. This is a hands‑on role offering exposure to modern industrial automation, site‑wide systems, ongoing projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position has the flexibility to suit a range of industrial electrical experience levels and provides an excellent opportunity to upskill and develop your technical capabilities through on‑the‑job learning and support from an experienced engineering team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Electrical maintenance of sawmill, processing plant, and site infrastructure
• Fault finding and troubleshooting across automated plant and control systems
• Electrical installations, upgrades, and plant improvements
• Planned and breakdown maintenance
• Assisting with engineering and reliability improvement projects
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant standards and procedures

About You

You will ideally have:

• NZ registration as an Electrician with a current practising licence
• Experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment (sawmill experience advantageous but not essential)
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
• An interest in working with automated plant and control systems
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A strong commitment to health and safety
