About the opportunity

As Despatch Co-ordinator you are responsible for the full scope of daily despatch operations for the division, encompassing inventory management, stock takes, planning, preparation, and despatch of products to ports, distributors, warehouses, and customers. You will also be involved in assisting the Supply Chain Manager with negotiating freight container prices and trucking negotiations. Alongside the office-based work you are also required to participate in hands on practical work to mark-up product in preparation for despatch. This role is based at our Whirinaki site located 15 mins north of Napier.

About you

You will have direct reports in this role so experience in managing and motivating staff is crucial.

You also have:

  • a background of 2 years in a supply chain, inventory management or logistics role is preferred
  • an understanding of inventory management software
  • a high level of energy and composure during times of pressure
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • strong interpersonal, relationship and influencing skills
  • strong organisational skills with the ability to deliver on promises and deadlines
  • a strong attention to detail
  • problem solving skills
  • excellent time management skills
  • the ability to respond quickly to changes in priorities or urgent requirements when they arise
  • a tertiary qualification in supply chain or inventory management which is not essential, but will be an advantage
